'Une autre Provence' - a Different Provence - consists of the Drôme Provençale and the Haut-Vaucluse, with the village of Mollans-sur-Ouvèze lying right in the middle, at the foot of Mont Ventoux.

Everywhere you look you see vineyards, lavender fields, olive groves and apricot trees.

Mollans-sur-Ouvèze, the doorway to the Baronnies, is a peaceful and picturesque village with one of the most beautiful fountains and public washing places in the south.

The village marks the transition between the Rhône valley and the Alpes du Sud. Here, the mistral wind has already lost most of its power.

Mass tourism has not yet arrived, although the village is close to some well-known tourist destinations:

  • Mont Ventoux, a legendary mountain amongst cyclists, is also ideal for walking, and you can even ski at the Mont Serein ski station in winter.
  • the Dentelles de Montmirail and Buis-les-Baronnies are great for adventure sports: hiking, climbing, paragliding and via ferrata.
  • you can visit cultural cities and remaining Roman monuments at Vaison-la-Romaine, Orange, Avignon and Pont-du-Gard.
  • typical Provençal villages: Villedieu, Montbrun-les-Bains and Sault.
  • world-renowned wine villages: Rasteau, Séguret, Vacqueyras, Gigondas, Beaumes-de-Venise and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
  • magnificent walks in the Gorges du Toulourenc and around Brantes, a hidden medieval village.
  • the Gorges de la Nesque.
  • every day of the week there is a choice of Provençal Markets.
